Illustratorで写真やイラストを簡単にベクター化！ライブトレース機能の使い方

Illustratorには、写真や画像を自動的にベクター化する「ライブトレース機能」があります。今回は、この機能を使って、写真をベクター化する手順を紹介します。素材制作に役立つテクニックですので、ぜひ参考にしてください。


Steps:

Illustratorを開く
Illustratorを起動し、メニューから「ファイル」→「新規」を選択します。新規ドキュメントを作成します。
画像をインポートする
「ファイル」→「インポート」を選択し、変換したい画像を選択してインポートします。
ライブトレースを選択する
インポートした画像を選択し、上部メニューバーの「オブジェクト」→「イメージトレース」→「モード」からトレースモードを選択します。
トレースオプションを設定する
「トレース」パネルを開き、トレースオプションを設定します。ここでは、トレースの種類、パスの角度、色などを選択できます。
プレビューで確認する
「プレビュー」ボタンを押して、トレース結果をプレビューします。結果を確認し、必要に応じてトレースオプションを調整します。
トレースを適用する
トレース結果に満足したら、「トレース」パネルの右上にある「トレースを適用」ボタンを押して、トレースを適用します。

以上が、Illustratorのライブトレース機能を使って写真をベクター化する手順です。ライブトレース機能を使えば、写真や画像を手軽にベクター化することができます。

ライブトレースでベクター化する際に、選択する色の設定は重要です。色を選択する際には、画像の品質や用途によって最適な色数を選びます。
※イメージトレースパレットには、ベクター化したい画像から生成されたカラーパレットが自動的に作成されます。このカラーパレットは、ベクター化したい画像から選択された色を含んでいるため、ベクター化された画像に適した色を簡単に選択することができます。

具体的には、以下のような色の選択方法があります。

モノクロ
黒と白の2色で表現されるモノクロは、色の選択が必要ないため、簡単にベクター化できます。ただし、モノクロで表現された画像は、彩度の高い色画像と比較して派手さがなくなる傾向があるため、用途によっては適さない場合もあります。
グレースケール
グレースケールは、白から黒までのグラデーションを使用した単色の表現方法です。色数が限られているため、色数が少なく、簡単にベクター化できます。また、単色で表現されるため、色の配色や変化が必要ない場合に適しています。
フルカラー
フルカラーは、RGBの3原色を混ぜ合わせた色の組み合わせで表現されます。フルカラー画像は、写真などのリアルな表現に適していますが、色数が多くなるため、ベクター化が難しくなることがあります。
パントンカラー
パントンカラーは、パントン社が定めた色見本帳に登録された色のことで、印刷業界で広く使用されています。パントンカラーを使用することで、色の再現性が高まりますが、色数が多くなるため、ベクター化が難しくなることがあります。
以上のように、色の選択は、画像の用途や品質によって適切な色数を選ぶ必要があります。

ベクター化したイラストはグループ化された状態になっている場合があります。これでは編集ができないので、グループ化を解除する必要があります。

グループ化を解除するには、まず選択したオブジェクトをクリックして、右クリックメニューから「グループ解除」を選択するか、キーボードのショートカット「Shift + Ctrl + G」を使います。

また、ベクター化したイラストに変更を加えたい場合は、オブジェクトを拡張する必要があります。オブジェクトを選択し、右クリックメニューから「拡張」を選択します。すると、オブジェクトが拡張され、編集が可能になります。

以上の手順を経て、Illustratorのライブトレース機能を使って写真をベクター化し、必要に応じて色の選択やグループ化の解除、オブジェクトの拡張を行うことができます。
